VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – SUMMER 2010

GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH

The first VBS event this summer was Worship at the Zoo in June.  After the regular church service, a Zoo Guide presented a program introducing some of the Zoo’s animal residents.  A brown bag lunch was enjoyed and families were able to explore the zoo on their own.

Four Saturday VBS sessions were held including visits to other facilities.  Baptism was the emphasis for the first Saturday and included a variety of water activities.  Most everyone got wet sooner or later with water balloon tosses.  The second session focused on Community Helpers which included a visit to the Gulf Shores Fire Station where the kids had a wonderful time.  Later we had a puppet presentation from Baldwin County’s Care House staff who conduct a variety of programs to educate children and adults about child abuse.    The next session highlighted Creation and we visited the Gulf Shores Museum.  The last session was about Sharing so the kids had a variety of games and craft activities which were enjoyed by all.
