Dear Parent or Guardian,
In addition to gaining a place on the GSES TechTeam, your child will be participating in an exciting technology project called ThinkQuest. Students will be conducting in-depth research on a topic. Then, they will work in teams to design and build educational websites sharing their knowledge. The finished websites will be entered into an international competition that includes teams of students from all over the world.
If you would like to see examples of other ThinkQuest websites created by students, visit http://www.thinkquest.org.
By participating in ThinkQuest, your child will develop skills that will help him/her succeed in the future. These skills include teamwork, research, writing, project management, and web design. For your reference, ThinkQuest also meets curriculum standards in Alabama.
Please note that there is no cost to participate and that ThinkQuest is strongly committed to online safety. Students are prohibited from sharing their full names or contact information on the websites, and I will closely monitor any research they do online. However, since the finished product will be published on the internet, I would like to ask for your permission for your child to participate. Please fill out the form below if you consent.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I look forward to every student completing a successful project!
Sincerely,
Dr. Leah Stover, Principal
