About the Lillian Volunteer Fire Department
Lillian Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects approximately
6,500 people
living in an area of 37 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that
protect a primarily residential area. LVFD is a public
department whose members are in a 100% volunteer status. We have an ISO
rating of 4/9. We are located in southeastern Alabama on U.S. Hwy 98,
approx. one mile from the Florida state line and about 15 minutes
from the Gulf of Mexico. We have 4 Class A pumpers, one 75'
Snorkel, one rescue pumper, one brush truck, one 2WD Medical
First-Response vehicle, one 4WD Medical Response vehicle, a medical rehab vehicle,
and a general use P/U truck. We run an average of 700+ calls per
year, offering Basic Life Support service as well as fire protection. We
have 2 AEDs (Automated External Defibrillator) ; this device can restart a person's heart during a sudden cardiac
arrest.
