Windham, NY Ski Trip
February 2007
We arrived in Newark, NJ on Friday, Feb 16, rented a car and drove into Manhattan. Cecily was supposed to have an official college visit at NYU, but our flight was rescheduled and we arrived much later than was originally planned. She didn't get her planned tour, but we got a security guard to sign some NYU letter head, making her visit official! We met up with Jacob, had some cheap NYC pizza, then drove up to Windham. The drive was supposed to take 2.5 hours. It seemed to take that long to get out of Manhattan! We took the New York State Throughway North to Windham. Being a Friday evening on a holiday weekend, it was very congested. Our 2.5 trip was closer to 4 hours. We skiied Saturday and Sunday, then toured Howe Caverns and went snow tubing on Monday. Monday evening we drove Jacob to Poughkeepsie, NY to catch the train back into NYC. We left the next morning for home. It was another long travel day due to another Airtrans schedule change, but we made it. All in all it was a very nice trip.
