As I sit here trying to organize my thoughts I realized that there are only so many good things that can be said about a ride from one year to the next.  All of the excitement is still there but it will take a better writer than I to express the same experience over and over.  So from now on I'm going to just hit on the interesting events that will define each ride in my memories.

As we neared Lee Circle I saw a NICE looking Red Headed Mother standing on her ladder at the back of the crowd.  She had her two sons on the ladder with her.  Being a true nephew to my late Uncle Norman I had to throw to this lady.  I grabed the largest beads I had and offered them to her with a point and a wave of the beads.  She shook her head yes.  I balled them up in my hand and let them fly.  My aim was true and sure enough they headed straight to her.  There was one small problem however.  Normally when I throw beads they open vertically.  These opened horizontally.  You guessed it nailed both the boys.  They lady being a true New Orleans Mardi Gras Veteran didn't miss a beat.  She grabbed the beads and then comforted her children.  That's my kind of gal.  But I must apologize to her and her sons at this point.  I meant for the beads to open vertically.  If it's any consolation you'll live forever in my Mari Gras Memories.

On Ash Wednesday I asked Robyn what her favorite part of the day before had been.  She looked at me dead seriously and said "Not waking up with a sore arm."
