Registration
Requirements to Enter School

Children entering kindergarten must be five (5) years old on or before September 2nd. Children entering first grade must be six (6) years old on or before September 2nd. A child enrolling in school for the first time must present to the principal the following documents prior to enrollment:

  • A certified birth certificate.

  • A valid Social Security card.

  • A current immunization form:

    • State of Alabama Certificate of Immunization (IMM-50),

    • Measles Immunization Certificate (IMM-90).

    • Only students presenting a Certificate of Medical Exemption or a Certificate of Religious Exemption (IMM-52) are excused from this requirement.

    • Forms may be obtained from local physicians or from the Baldwin County Health Department.

  • Proof of residence - custodial parent or guardian must reside within the area served by the school or have secured a zone variance.

  • A recent report card or withdrawal form from the last school attended.

  • A copy of guardianship papers, if applicable.

Kindergarten pre-registration is held in the spring, usually in April. Parents should pre-register their child at the school serving their attendance zone. Parents or guardians are encouraged to bring their child to the school when they pre-register so that new kindergarten students may be given a readiness survey.

It is very important that parents of any new student, regardless of grade level, contact the school office to register their child as soon as possible.
