READING - EXPLORING - RESEARCH
At St. Patrick School, reading is an integral part of the curriculum. For the younger children, we ask that the parents take an active role by reading with their child. The library has a very important role to play in the education process. It’s three basic functions are:
- To help students become enthusiastic readers
- To support and enrich the school's curriculum
- To meet the individual needs of students & teachers
Library skills are taught to the various classes according to the level of need and understanding. Students visit the library on a regular basis with individuals being allowed to use the library at other times at the discretion of the librarian.
➢ Students are responsible for returning books on time.
➢ A fee will be charged for past due books.
➢ A fee is required to replace damaged or lost books. The librarian will determine the dollar amount.
