Here is a list of websites and blogs I refer to, use, visit, read, and otherwise keep track of for one reason or another, generally because they contain good information or inspired me in some way. I've tried to give a good enough description so you'll have a general idea of where you'll be going before you get there if you decide to follow the link.

Shoot me an email to brokenlink at tessler65 dot com to report any broken links or other problems on this page.

Enjoy!
Weight Watchers
You knew I'd list this one first, didn't you? ;) Lots of scientific articles, success stories, recipes, and all sorts of information whether you're doing WW or following some other diet or nutrition plan. Some areas are restricted to paying members only, but there is a lot of information available to the general public as well.

Weight Watchers Message Boards
I wanted to have a separate link directly to the message boards because they helped me so much during my own weight loss journey. The message boards are free for everyone; you can read any thread but you have to register for a free account in order to post replies and threads of your own. There are lots and lots of different message boards. It shouldn't be hard for you to find a place that feels comfortable, where you can both give and get support on your journey.

Recipes, Food Reviews, etc.

Hungry Girl
Hungry. Girl. Need I say more? Her pumpkin pie and Thanksgiving dressing recipes were huge holiday hits!

Heather's Recipe Site
Tons of "Core"/Simply Filling Technique recipes including the Bubble Up Pizza Casserole recipe (see ground beef).

A Year of Slow Cooking (2008)
Want to make yogurt in your slow cooker? She has a recipe! Want to make homemade cranberry sauce, too? She's got you covered! How about homemade applesauce? Check!

A Veggie Venture
Do you struggle getting in your veggies? Let Alanna help! She has TONS of yummy veggie recipes here!

Fruit Maven
Are you lost when it comes to fruit? When someone says, "Name three fruits!" do you get stuck after listing apples and bananas? Then this is the website for you! She reviews fruit--exotic and otherwise--and gives you the info you'll need to do a bit of fruit experimenting on your own.

Fooducate Blog
What they say they are about: "Providing practical advice for buying healthy food at the supermarket. NOT selling pills, supplements, or diets. NO industry affiliations." And that's pretty much it. It's all about reading the label before you buy.

SparkPeople
Online food tracker, recipes, and best of all - it's FREE!

CalorieKing
Good site to look up the nutrition information for a variety of foods. Of course, the actual restaurant website is best, but if they don't offer their NI, you may be able to find it here or on dietfacts.com (see below).

WW 100+ Board (Not affiliated with Weight Watchers)
This website was set up by a member of the WW 100+ Pounds to Lose message board. It contains a lot of information about message board etiquette and acronyms, but my favorite part is this page that includes links to lots and lots of other websites and blogs (including this one). :)

GoingSkiing
GoingSkiing is a regular poster on the WW Maintenance message board. She has a lot of insight into the whole weight loss and long-term maintenance thing and some of her posts really opened my eyes to my own poor behaviors. I highly recommend reading her thought-provoking site, especially if you deal with binge behaviors.

Lynn's Weigh - The Journey Continues
Lynn lost 168 pounds and has been maintaining that loss for a few years now. The link above is her current blog. This is her original freewebs blog. She is also on Facebook.

The Tippy Toe Diet
I love Cammy's approach to making long-term, sustainable life changes in order to lose weight and get healthy.

Escape from Obesity
Meet Lyn, an obese mother who has struggled with her weight for years. She shows what a mental struggle losing weight can be for those who eat for reasons other than hunger.

My Angle on Weight Loss
Written by Jason, an ultramarathoner who does Weight Watchers and runs for the sheer joy of it. He understands the struggle with binge behaviors and eating in secret.

PastaQueen
She wrote a book about losing weight. She also has a section in her blog about licking the produce. Nice reviews of fruits you may or may not have ever tried. I love her 360-body-views; I almost wish I had done something like that, too.

The Anti-Jared
Tony has lost over 200 pounds on Weight Watchers.

Humor, etc.
