Vining at Dutch Settlement, in the Parish of St. Mary, onMonday the 29th day of September next, at ten o'clock in the forenoonthe following property belonging to the community that did existbetween William Vining, late of this Parish, deceased and MaryHartman, his surviving widow, to wit:
The tract of land, or Plantation on which said deceased last residedin this said Parish of St. Mary, measuring five arpens front on theleft bank of the River Atchafalaya, by the depth of forty arpens, thelines closing in the rear, bounded above by land of widow James Andrusand below by land of Hypolite Mayon, together with all the buildingsand improvements thereon.
Moses, a Negro Man aged 30 years, slave for life
Lucretia, a Negro Woman, aged 35 years, slave for life.
Also, some Farming Utensils, a double barrel percussion Gun,Household Furniture and other personal property, all too tedious toenumerate.
Conditions: The land and slaves payable in four equal installments,falling due on the 1st day of April 1846, on the 1st day of April1847, on the 1st day of April 1848, and on the 1st day of April 1849,The personal property, all sums of ten dollars and under cash: allsums over ten dollars payable on the 1st day of April next (1846).
Purchasers in all cases of credit, to give their notes with goodpersonal security in solid, conditioned to bear eight per cent perannum interest form time due till paid in full, and all propertysubject to mortgage to be and remain special mortgaged andhypothecated until entire payments of said notes and interest, as inaforesaid:

By virtue and in pursuance of a decree issued by the honorable thedistrict Court of the 14th judicial district of the State ofLouisiana, bearing the date the 15th day of March, 1851 and of thedeliberations of a family meeting held before Thomas Smith, NotaryPublic of this Parish, under date the 28th of March, 1851, inaccordance with said decree in behalf of Horatio Vining, the minor sonof Mary Vining, deceased, and William McGreggor and Mary ElizabethMcGreggor, grandchildren of the deceased, being entitled to themothers portion of the estate, I will proceed to sell at publicauction on Saturday, the 13th day of May next (1851), at the hour of11 o'clock A. M., at Pattersonville, on the premises, the [propertyhereafter described, to wit:
One house and lot situated in the immediate vicinity ofPattersonville; one negro woman, aged about 27, and her child, aged 4years, on a credit of one, two and three years, payable in three equalinstallments, the purchaser to give his notes with good personalsecurity. Sales to be passed before notary, at the expense of thepurchaser, with the property specially mortgaged until full and entirepayment of the notes, and that said notes are to bear interest at therate of eight percent per annum, from date until paid: The balance ofproperty, consisting of beds, furniture, clothing, ect. to tedious tomention, to be sold for cash, on the same day and at the same place.
