Note: Drewry Deen Sr. wa from North Carolina. The family came to SouthAlabama by the "Old Federal Roads." They stopped off in Georgia awhile. They were in Conecuh Co. prior to 1820. They stayed at "AudreySettlement" (a fort built by earlier settlers against the Indians.)They brought their slaves with them. They started buying land inEastern part of the county. Lots of land.
Drewry Deen Sr. was married twice. His first wife, Mary Deen, diedDec. 11, 1821. He had nine children by each wife.

Deen, Sherrod (b. ABT 1769, d. ABT 1823)
Given Name: Sherrod
Event: Type: 1820 Census
Date: 1820
Event: Type: 1810 Census
Date: 1810
Event: Type: 1800 Census
Date: 1800
Event: Type: 1790 Census
Date: 1790
Event: unknown author
Type: Bio.
Note: Sherrod is known to be the son of Jeremiah Deens of Nash Co. NC but wehave conclusively determined that Jeremiah is the father of OUR EdmondDean. Sherrod appears in several records in Nash Co. and in Georgiaand Tennessee as well. In Nash Co. he appears in a few of the CourtMinutes doing land transactions with his mother who is listed as Maryin some documents and Molley in others. But it is certainly the sameperson. He also appears in the 1790 census for Nash Co. This meansthat in 1790 he was atleast 21 years of age. He is listed as having 4young boys in his household. So, counting back from 1790 to find hisbirth year, we take 21 for being in the census and 1 year for eachchild which brings us to 1765. Sherrod pops up again in the TaxRecords for Montgomery Co. GA in 1797 and 1798. We see him again inthe 1805 Georgia Land Lottery. His is listed as being from Clarke Co.He is also listed with a Molly Deens. The last sighting I have ofSherrod is in 1818 in Williamson Co. TN in an Estate Inventorydocument as being a purchaser.
Death: ABT 1823 Hardin County, Tennessee
Will: Date: NOV 1788
Place: Nash County, North Carolina
Note: Mentioned in his father will
